- What is your adoption process?
Prospective adopters must submit an application
form. Depending on your home situation
and the pet you would like to adopt, your application may be approved on the spot or
it may require additional review. If we receive multiple applications for a pet,
we consider all homes and select the one that best matches the animal's needs.

- Can I adopt if I live outside Culpeper County?
Pets that have been spayed or neutered can be adopted to residents of Virginia and nearby
states. Please note that we are not able to provide transportation for out-of-state adoptions.
Puppies and kittens that are not spayed or neutered (generally those under 6 months of age)
must go to homes in Culpeper and adjacent counties.

- How can I volunteer with the Humane Society of Culpeper?
Culpeper's abused and abandoned pets are depending on you to help through a wide variety
of volunteer
opportunities. Devote a few hours on a one-time basis or make a regular
weekly or monthly commitment. You can work directly with the
animals or help with fundraising and publicity projects. Whatever
you do, it's rewarding to know you are making a difference in the lives of
needy dogs and cats. And, it's fun to spend time with others who love animals
as much as you do!
