The Humane Society of Culpeper is funded entirely through donations from local individuals and
businesses. We receive no funding from government agencies or national animal rescue organizations.
With your financial support, we are able to have all adult dogs and cats vaccinated and
spayed or neutered prior to adoption. We also treat many animals with minor injuries or
infections that would otherwise be euthanized. Our annual expenses for medical care alone
typically reach nearly $100,000. In addition, we operate two vans for daily transport of
animals to veterinarians and adoption events.
You can make an online donation through our secure account with PayPal.
You can donate with your Credit or Debit Card (MasterCard/Visa/Discover/American
Express) or, if you have one,
with your PayPal account. You don't need to setup a PayPal account
to make a one-time donation with a Credit/Debit card. If you
like to make a monthly recurring donation, you do need a PayPal account,
which you can setup for free.
Please include your mailing address so we can send our thanks along with a receipt
for your tax-deductible donation. We respect your privacy and do not share our
membership list with any other organizations or businesses.
We are currently seeking donations of land and funds to build a no-kill animal rescue
center in Culpeper as an adjunct to the county-operated animal shelter. At our facility,
the Humane Society of Culpeper will promote responsible pet ownership through adoption
programs, obedience training, animal rehabilitation, and a low-cost spay/neuter clinic.
Our vision is that every adoptable pet in Culpeper County will find a "forever home."
Your unrestricted gift of any amount will help us provide care and comfort to Culpeper's
homeless pets. If you prefer, direct your gift to our Emergency Medical Fund or Spay/Neuter
Fund. Individuals and businesses can also sponsor fundraising events such as the Furr Ball
or Howlin' Hoedown for as little as $250. Another option is to let a memorial gift speak for
you on the loss of a person or pet. The society will acknowledge your gift by sending an
elegant card to the family and recognizing your gift in our newsletter. You can also memorialize
a pet on a permanent brass plaque at the shelter.
The Humane Society of Culpeper can be included in your estate planning through will provisions,
charitable trusts, or bequests. We would be happy to work with you or your trustees to make the
necessary arrangements. Here are some possibilities to consider:
- Donate a percentage of your estate
- Donate a specific dollar amount
- Give the residue of your estate
- Donate property
The Humane Society of Culpeper is always in need of collars, leashes, harnesses, cat carriers,
dog crates, kitty litter, towels, and bedding materials. We also welcome donated items for our silent
auctions, yard sales, and other fundraising activities.
A simple phone call can turn your car, motorcycle, boat or recreational vehicle into cash for the
Humane Society of Culpeper. We can arrange to pick up your vehicle, process all the necessary
paperwork and sell your vehicle at auction. The proceeds come to the Humane Society, and you
will receive a tax deduction based on the value of the vehicle. It's fast and easy, and provides
valuable support for our animals and programs.
